Celebrate Love and Support the Bees 🐝

When you choose me as your wedding photographer, you're not only investing in artful storytelling, you’re also supporting a greater mission.

I’m a beekeeper in Sunshine Canyon, Boulder, Colorado, and the heart of my photography is rooted in deep connection to people, place, and purpose. A portion of every wedding I photograph goes directly toward supporting national and international pollinator protector initiatives.

By celebrating your love through thoughtful, intentional photography, you’re helping protect the magic that makes this planet bloom, starting with the bees.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Me, the Bees, and the Honey

Q: Do you really keep bees?
Yep! I’ve been a beekeeper for over 8 years. It’s more than a hobby—it’s a grounding practice that keeps me connected to the land, the seasons, and the magic of slow care.

Q: Where are your bees?
My bees live at Lotus Farms in Sunshine Canyon, Boulder, Colorado—one of the most ecologically rich areas in the U.S. (second-most biodiverse, in fact!). They forage among native wildflowers, ponderosa pines, and high-elevation blooms, producing honey that’s as wild and unique as the land itself.

Q: What makes your honey different?
Sunshine Canyon Honey is small-batch, raw, and unfiltered. It’s never heated, blended, or treated—just pure, golden goodness straight from the comb. Each jar reflects the wildflowers, trees, and elevation of our mountain canyon, offering a true taste of place. It’s honey with terroir—like wine, but way stickier.

Q: Does your photography brand include honey?
Yes! Every couple I work with receives a mini jar of Sunshine Canyon Honey as part of their wedding experience. It’s my way of saying thank you, and sharing something meaningful, personal, and sweet from my world to yours.

Q: How can we support the bees?
Start small: plant pollinator-friendly flowers, avoid pesticides, buy local honey, and support sustainable beekeepers. Every thoughtful choice helps create a better world for bees and for all of us.

Why Bees? 🐝

  • Bees pollinate 90% of flowering plants and over 75% of the crops we eat,

helping keep the world colorful, abundant, and thriving—just like love. They support wildflowers, fresh fruits, and so many of the beautiful details we cherish at weddings. Without them, bouquets would be duller, menus more limited, and landscapes less vibrant. Bees also sustain ecosystems and contribute billions to the global economy through their quiet, essential work. Yet their populations are declining due to pesticides, habitat loss, and climate change. Supporting bees means protecting the beauty and abundance that surrounds life’s sweetest moments—like your wedding day.

  • Honey and bees have long been part of wedding traditions,

symbolizing sweetness, prosperity, and enduring love. In many cultures, newlyweds were gifted honey or mead, a fermented honey wine, to bless their marriage with happiness and fertility. The word "honeymoon" comes from this very tradition, when couples would drink mead for a full moon cycle after their wedding to ensure joy and good fortune. Saint Valentine, the patron saint of lovers, is also the patron saint of bees and beekeepers. Like a thriving hive, a strong partnership is built on harmony, devotion, and shared purpose.

  • Bees embody the spirit of teamwork,

working together in perfect harmony to build something lasting and sweet. Every drop of honey is the result of thousands of bees collaborating with purpose—a timeless substance that never spoils. Just like a strong partnership, the hive thrives on communication, trust, and shared effort.
